'The Little Nut' - Clothing, Furniture, Gifts & Toys.
Situated at 18 Eagle Brow in the village of Lymm, part of Warrington, Cheshire lies a querky little shop called 'The little nut'. It opened its doors in April this year and has become a favorate with the locals. It is a small family run business that supports many local small businesses. A lot of the products are hand made by the family or by people in the local area. The products stocked are high-end quality items with production techniques dating back to middle ages. They have a range of products from handmade clothing, bespoke furniture, gifts for many of the family and lots of things for children.
The clothing range is mainly made of 'boiled wool' This is made in Statham by the Owner Samantha Poole's parents. They have had their own business for 26 years now and 'The Little nut' has exclusives to all their products. 'Boiling wool' is a technique used to make fabric that dates back to the Middle Ages. It's a mechanical process using water and agitation, shrinking knitted or woven wool fabrics, compressing and interlocking the fibres into a tight felt like mass. The process is chemical free. Wool that has been boiled is a lot warmer, much more durable, showerproof, non itchy and more wind proof.
Owner Samantha Poole states:
"The little nut opened in April this year and is a small family run business that supports many local small businesses.
Many items in the shop are hand crafted and can be made to order for that extra special somebody.
My back ground is far from retail so I was overwhelmed with how welcoming the Lymm community have been. The fellow shop owners In the village have been lovely and customers have been so loyal and supportive.
We are about to get a fresh new range of stock ready for autumn and I'm excited about everybody to see this.
