Town Mayor Cllr Les Morgan to Open St Thomas’ C.E. Primary School New Outdoor Classroom at the Annual Summer Fair Sat 24th June 2017 – 1pm

An afternoon of carnival fun will be enjoyed by all when St Thomas’ C.E. Primary School, Stockton Heath opens its gates to welcome the wider community in, on Saturday 24th June from 1pm til 4pm.

St Thomas' primary has its summer fair this Saturday 1-4pm. This year the theme is The Circus. We've enlisted the support of Wonderslide World and we're having 2 circus skills workshops. Suitable for children from age 3 a 30 minute workshop is just £5. The summer fair is open to all, not just children of St Thomas'. So roll up, roll up, head on over to Parkgate Road. You can enrol at the school office tomorrow, or sign up on Saturday at the fair. The sessions are 2pm and 3pm, come early to avoid disappointment.

As well as the official unveiling and opening of the new outdoor classroom, the school grounds will be transformed into a carnival for the afternoon.

The annual fundraising event organised by the school’s parent and teachers’ association and St Thomas & St Mary Magdalene’s Church will see young people take part in circus skills workshops, try their luck at ‘hook a duck’, hoopla, bat-the-rat, lucky dip and various other sideshow games. Other activities on offer included a bouncy ‘big top’, face painting, crafts, fire breather, beat the goalie, donkey rides, stalls, licenced bar and a BBQ.

The new Mayor of Warrington, Councillor Les Morgan, will officially open the fair and classroom, alongside St Thomas C.E. Primary School Head Teacher Mr Ian Moss at 1pm.

Grateful to the organisers for putting on such an enjoyable event each year and for Cllr Morgan’s attendance, Head Master Mr Moss said, “The organisation of the fair is always a great effort from everyone involved and I would like to say a sincere thank you to all the people who help to make this annual event a great success, including teachers, children, parents, those who donated prizes and of course those who attend and give generously on the day, we are privileged to be able to have purchased a new outdoor classroom, using funds raised by our PTA and in these uncertain times fundraising is all the more important. The school is delighted that Cllr Morgan can join us to officially open the new classroom and celebrate the community spirit at St Thomas’.”
