Owner of Toni and Guy is the Winner of 2017 EWIF (Encouraging women in to Franchising)
EWIF is looking to change the face of the franchise sector in order for women to have a much larger presence. The 2015 NatWest/bfa survey revealed that women account for just 23% of franchisees in the UK. The survey also revealed that over the last two years, only 17% of new franchisees have been women.
The EWIF's primary focus is to support women who are looking for a route into the franchise industry. Their aim is to encourage women to consider buying a franchise, to encourage business women to franchise their existing operations and to help franchisors attract more women to their networks. They are a not-for-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers, providing advice and guidance to anyone looking at trying to break into the franchise industry.

The EWIF partners with professionals like Claire in the franchise industry to ensure that they can offer the best guidance and support possible to those first starting out. Members consist of both franchisors and franchise service suppliers. They offer free services to women seeking advice and guidance and also undertake research into women in franchising, alongside raising the issues that face women in franchising and publicise women in franchising in the media. Those who want to join Membership is £130 per annum, per company from the date of joining.
