BPS has been practicing family law with excellence since 1948. Providing advice and support at a sensitive and emotionally pressured time.

The company’s Matrimonial and Family Division was founded by Harry Lipson who has over 40 years of matrimonial law experience to offer clients. The team is headed by Partner Caroline Swain who works closely with Harry making a solid advice network for their clients. Both are widely recognised as leaders in their field.

With a sympathetic ear and a robust pragmatic, yet personal approach, BPS Family Law lawyers advise in a variety of family-related areas, that include, but are not limited to divorce, financial settlements, pre-nuptial agreements, enforcement of court orders, powers of attorney, Court of Protection, bereavement inquests and contested Wills.

The firm already has bases in Manchester city centre and Hale, Cheshire and has chosen to expand by taking new space in the Cheshire village to accommodate its growing team.

Partner Caroline Swain said the move comes after BPS Family Law has enjoyed a strong period of growth, primarily due to the firm’s ‘recognised leadership in family law having represented on a number of incredibly complex and notable cases’.

The firm represents local, national and international wealthy and ultra-wealthy clients including well known business owners and celebrities, Caroline said: “Now is the right time for us to expand. Our Stockton Heath office will complement our bases in Manchester and Hale perfectly.

We are high end specialists in divorce who will bring something niche to what is a thriving village in Warrington. With the level of expertise and knowledge we offer our specialist practice gives us the edge over other legal firms across the region.”

Caroline, who works closely with fellow BPS Family Law partners Sefton Kwasnik and Harry Lipson, has just celebrated the firm’s 68th anniversary of the Manchester city centre-based practice and its 6th year in Hale by launching a new website and a freshly refurbished office.

She said the BPS Family Law approach is “that we want our clients to be happy both in the long and short term, and this for some means that they decide to go through the process of divorce”.

Caroline said: “At BPS Family Law we have always believed that a holistic view for the family is what matters most. We always fight a strong and robust case for our clients and the outcome they want for their family. That is our passion and it won’t change as we continue to expand.

It’s an exciting time for us at the moment. We have eight advisors in our family law team, three of whom are Partners. We will be adding to our workforce in the coming months to support the demand for our services that we are currently experiencing. Each of our members are specialists in their field with indepth, unrivalled knowledge in their individual areas of law. We have spent many years perfecting our team to ensure that our clients are exposed to the very best legal advisors and to allow us to provide extensive but mastered advice and practice.

I have a very strong team, our solicitors are some of the most formidable in our field. I will be working between all three BPS Family Law offices and the new office will very much be a very family orientated and homely space.”
